Book Report On Rebecca Essay Example For Students

Book Report On Rebecca Essay NOVEL STUDYSection A Background Information1) In 1907, a well known author named Daphne Du Maurier was conceived. She wroteher first novel, Loving Spirit, in 1931. Different books that Du Maurier wrotewere Rule Britannia, My Cousin Rachel, The Kings General. TheScapegoat, Jamaican Inn and some more. Margaret Forester held highpraises for Du Maurier. Forester had stated, No other well known author Du Maurier} has so triumphantly challenged order She fulfilled all t sketchy measures of famous fiction, but then fulfilled as well, the specific prerequisites of genuine writing, something not many writer do. Daphne Du Maurier kicked the bucket in 1985, at 82 years old. Her tale Rebecca is presently viewed as a cutting edge great. 2) I picked this novel since I had heard great things about it. Somebody prescribed this novel to me and when I read the back, I was unable to support myself. The outline on the back caused the novel to appear to be so interesting. The spread plan caused a baffling effect. On the spread is a solitary house. The sky is extremely dull and desolate, yet then helps up close the rear of the house. The friendless houses and dull sky made me wonder pretty much all the riddles and privileged insights that held on to be opened. The title Rebecca is additionally very puzzling on the grounds that the title is a solitary word. Not the slightest bit does it make reference to what may occur. The epic makes me feel that I ought to expect the unexpectedSection B Setting and Plot1) The setting of Rebecca happens in Maxims antiquated family home. This huge house was called Manderely. Manderely was very notable all through the majority of Europe, which was the place the novel happens. The creator doesn t indicate where in Europe Rebecca happens. Du Maurier expressed that Manderely was driving good ways from London, England. Manderely was far away from town. The house had excellent gardens surrounding it. There were pathways through the woods that lead to Manderelys private sea shore. There were iron entryways that opened up to the since quite a while ago turned garage. The start of the garage was encircled by tress and bushes. At that point the bushes vanished to uncover dark red rhododendrons, that East wing and a West wing. The east wing had a morning room, which was the place the characters sat after breakfast, a bet room, a library and an enormous twofold room. The twofold room ignored Manderelys excellent rose nurseries. The west had a considerably bigger room, a display and a lovely meal lobby. The room on the west wing ignored the sea. This room was not being used on the grounds that it was the place Rebecca and Maxim rested when Rebecca was alive. The setting of Rebecca was critical. The area of the manor being near the sea shore, was significant in Rebeccasdeath. The sea at the sea shore was the place Maxim had slaughtered Rebecca and sank her pontoon. On the off chance that the sea shore wasnt so close, at that point the homicide would have been unique. Additionally, Manderely is the place Rebecca and Maxim live respectively before she kicked the bucket. In the event that Maxim and the new Mrs. De Winter hadnt lived in Manderely, at that point the new Mrs. De Winter wouldnt have lived in Manderely and Mrs. De Winder would not have felt like Rebecca was watching them. Also, the seclusion of Manderely was significant on the grounds that it permitted nobody to ever comprehend what was happening in Manderely. Nobody realized that Maxim murdered Rebecca on the grounds that Manderely was not even close to town. Significant Events in the PlotMaxim, a rich man, meets the future Mrs. de Winter in an inn in Monte Carlo. .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .postImageUrl , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .focused content territory { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:hover , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:visited , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:active { border:0!important; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; haziness: 1; change: murkiness 250ms; webkit-progress: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:active , .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:hover { mistiness: 1; progress: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: mistiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .focused content zone { width: 100%; position: rel ative; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content embellishment: underline; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; fringe sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: intense; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt range: 3px; content adjust: focus; content adornment: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u5 c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u5c4f85b0c0432f0f4d756fccdfbb576e:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Absolute Underezding EssayMaxim weds Mrs. de Winter and they leave Monte Carlo. However, few months after my uncle found out that he had a malignant neoplastic disease, and was hospitalized a physician from the infirmary down in Bend, Oregon helped him to acquire a medical insurance through Oregon Health Plan. This helped my uncle and his household a batch. My uncle was able to acquire choice intervention from the infirmary through that wellness program. The physicians did chemotherapy for six months and still it did n’t bring around him, and shortly physicians gave up, and said sorry he wo n’t populate for long. Just hebdomad after that my uncle passed off. This is how my household is impacted by Leukemia. Leukemia is malignant neoplastic disease that starts in the tissue that forms blood. To cognize how malignant neoplastic disease starts it is helpful to cognize how normal blood cells form. Most blood cells are formed in the bone marrow called root cells. Bone marrow is the soft stuff in the centre of most castanetss. When mature it develops into different sorts of blood cells, each sort does a particular occupation. Major sorts include the ruddy blood cells and the white blood cells. White blood cells are helpful to contend infections. There are many sorts of white blood cells. Red blood cells carry O to the tissues throughout the organic structure. The thrombocytes help organize blood coagulums to forestall hemorrhage. White blood cells, ruddy blood cells, and thrombocytes are created from root cells when organic structure needs them. When these cells grow old or damaged, they die, and so new cells take their topographic point. In a patient who has leukaemia, the bone marrow makes unnatural white blood cells. Those unnatural blood cells are called leukemia cells. Normal blood cells die when they reach a certain age or when they get damaged, whereas leukaemia cells do non decease after aging or acquiring damaged. They start to herd out normal white blood cells, ruddy blood cells, and thrombocytes. This state of affairs makes it really hard for normal blood cells to make their occupation. There are two types of leukaemia ; the types of leukaemia can be grouped on the bases of how speedy the disease develops and gets worse. Leukemia is either chronic which normally gets worse easy, or theirs acute which normally gets worse rapidly. Chronic Leukemia: In the beginning phases of the disease, the leukaemia cells can still make the occupation for normal white blood cells. Patient may non hold any mark at first ; physicians frequently find the chronic leukaemia during a everyday medical examination before there are any symptoms. Gradually, chronic leukaemia gets worse. As the figure of leukemia cells in the blood additions, patients starts to acquire symptoms, such as conceited lymph nodes, febrilities, dark workout suits, weak feeling, hemorrhage, weight loss, swelling, hurting or infections. When those symptoms do look, they are normally mild at first and acquire worse easy. Acute Leukemia: The leukaemia cells ca n’t make any of the work of normal white blood cells. The figure of leukemia cells increases rapidly. Patients normally go to their physician because they feel ill. If the encephalon is affected, they may headaches, purging, confusion, loss of musculus control, or ictuss. Patients start to acquire symptoms, such as conceited lymph nodes, febrilities, dark workout suits, weak feeling, hemorrhage, weight loss, swelling, hurting or infections. Acute leukaemia normally worsens quickly. Diagnosis: Have one or more of the undermentioned trials done: physical test, blood trials, biopsy done two ways bone marrow aspiration and bone marrow biopsy. Prevention: As long bar goes, there is no manner to forestall leukaemia at this clip. However, avoiding hazard factors such as smoke, exposure to toxic chemicals, diagnostic X raies, and exposure to radiation may assist forestall some instances of leukaemia. Being healthy and remaining healthy dramas a large function in forestalling leukaemia. What we put into our organic structures has a batch to make with our overall wellness. Cancer Contending Foods: I have besides done some research on nutrients that are known to forestall different types of malignant neoplastic disease. Eating a batch of veggies and fruits help to forestall leukaemia, list of veggies and fruits are: Avocados – rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free groups in organic structure. Black Raspberries A ; Blueberries – contain an antioxidant that kills leukemia cells without harming healthy cells. Carrots – contain beta provitamin A, which may assist cut down malignant neoplastic disease. Broccoli, Brassica oleracea botrytis, Brussels sprouts, and chou – contains two antioxidants, xanthophyll and zeaxanthin that may assist cut down malignant neoplastic disease. Garlic – increases the activity of immune cells and helps interrupt down substances that cause malignant neoplastic disease. Grapefruits, oranges, papaia, pomegranate – aid prevent malignant neoplastic disease Treatment: Leukemia intervention falls into two types of intervention to contend the malignant neoplastic disease and intervention to alleviate the symptoms of the disease and the side effects of the intervention. Chemotherapy is the widely used intervention for leukaemia ; it is the powerful drug to kill leukemia cells. Therapy can be administered by oral cavity or vena depending on the type of medicine. Sometimes depending on the instance chemotherapy can be given at place. In other instances patient has to hospitalise to have the therapy. By this it kills cells or halt them from reproducing. It besides kills quickly turning healthy cells, accounting for many of the side effects of therapy. The badness of the side effects depends on the doses given and the patient ‘s tolerance. Chemotherapy is normally given in rhythms. Each rhythm consists of terrible intervention over several yearss followed by a few hebdomads without intervention for remainder and recovery from side effects caused by the therapy, largely anemia and low white blood cells. The sequence is so repeated. It may be administered for two to six rhythms, depending on subtype leukaemia and hazard factors involved. Bone marrow test may be done prior to each rhythm of therapy. After completion of intervention the patient is evaluated once more to see the consequence of the chemotherapy for leukaemia. Decision: In terminal it is all about how we take attention of our organic structures, our diet plays a large function in our well being and remaining healthy. As stated above leukaemia malignant neoplastic disease is a really unsafe disease. We should take proper safeguard to forestall this disease. Doctors are taking several steps to forestall this malignant neoplastic disease from distributing in human organic structure. If leukemia malignant neoplastic disease is non taken attention in its early phases it may turn out fatal to human organic structure. American Marketing Association

Question: Discuss about the American Marketing Association. Answer: Introduction: Marketing is a broad concept. According to the American Marketing Association, marketing is the set of activities and processes in order to create communication and deliver products or any kind of exchange that has some value to customers, clients or society. To develop sales and reputation it is important for any company to buildup strategies for emphasizing the concept of marketing. A company that lack good marketing strategy may lose essential opportunities for increasing their market value(Armstrong, Adam, Denize, Kotler, 2014). Australian retail market contains many noteworthy names. One such name is Woolworth that has attained a apex of success. For its target customers Woolworths have a wide range and variety of products that includes groceries, vegetables, meat, packaged food items, magazines stationary products and even DVD(Arli, Dylke, Burgess, Campus, Soldo, 2013). Recently Woolworths launched its clothing line in South Africa to increase its business and popularity. Woolworths has 980 stores across Australia and 16 retail stores without the name Woolworth but under the same logo. They have their Headquarters in New South Wales and they operate under the name Safeway in Victoria where they have four stores in rural Victoria and three in Melbourne. They are at the market of retail business for over 92 years with average sale of 33,275 million dollars and profit margin of 1099 million dollars. Their asset value is worth 11,936 million dollars(Knox, 2014). In this current report the marketing strategies of Woolworth including the issues faced by the brand is discussed. Ways for resolving such issues is also recommended. Marketing strategies of Woolworths: In Australian Market, the prime competitor for Woolworths is Coles and together they dominate over 80% of the Australian retail market. In recent years however a new name Aldi, came to business to give these two giant a competition. Woolworths became the fastest growing food and liquor retailer in Australian market in 2013. For achieving such peaks, the company must have some concrete marketing strategies. In this section, these strategies are discussed elaborately with context to the eight Ps of marketing. Product: The marketing strategy targeted for products includes Design, technology, usability, value, quality, brand and warranty. Woolworths being a retailer has a wide range of products in their supermarket chains. Their product range includes fresh and packaged foods and vegetables; beverages and liquor; clothing line; Home accessories. In addition, they also have financial services(Perrone Wodonga, 2015). For food and beverages, they focus on quality. Supplying the customers with high quality food is their first choice. Next, they rely on convenience, providing the customers feasibility of shopping in wide range of branded products. Innovation is their strongest marketing strategy that includes delicious authentic yet innovative recipes, which are tasty yet nutritious. Their clothing line focus on improving ranges, introducing new fashionable styles in budget value and sustainable quality. Woolworths present a wide range of home accessories and furnishings that include kitchen and bathroo m ware, crockery and vases, bedroom wear and curtains. They also have a market for furniture that is stylish and contemporary in an affordable range(Digital, 2017). Price: Keeping their customers in mind, and to appeal to a huge range of customer, Woolworths offer a wide range of price that fits the budget of majority of taxpayers. To attract customers they give offers in a wide range of their products as well. A total basket of goods that includes bread, milk, eggs, apples, chicken, cabbage, cheese maize, sugar, mincemeat, soft drink, flour, tea bags, rice and margarine is worth R479.44, which is quite affordable. Combined with lucrative offers Woolworth has a solid marketing strategy to attract a good range of customers(Digital, 2017). Promotion: The successful promotional strategies that Woolworths take make them the key player in the Australian retail market. According to analysts, their key to success is that they focus more on growing category sales rather than price cut. Even though there are players in business who offer same range of products in much lower price, Woolworth stays as the customers choice of brand to shop. Their central focus is on extending their food and liquor range. Promoting their grocery, petrol through celebrities had been a prime promotional strategy for Woolworths that attracted attention of customers. This helped increase their brand value considerably(Methner, Hamann, Nilsson, The Evolution of a Sustainability Leader: The Development of Strategic and Boundary Spanning Organizational Innovation Capabilities in Woolworths., 2015). Place/distribution: Place represents a particular point from where products of an organization reach the end customers. Place can be both offline and online. Depending on the type of product offerings of the organization, online or offline mode is selected and in some cases both are selected, so that the company is able to grow its business manifold(Armstrong, Adam, Denize, Kotler, 2014). Place offers a different picture to the consumers. While deciding to set shop in a particular city, an organization has to carefully study various parameters with respect to the existing demography, purchasing power parity of the consumers, existing competitors and local tax laws. People: It is the community for whom quality products and services are offered by an organization. People factor can be categorized with respect to both in house human resources of the firm and also the consumers to whom the same will be sold. If qualities of services are not up to the mark or the desired level of expectations, then a very good quality product might not sell to its intended customers. Woolworths has an excellent human capital workforce which has helped them expand its network and product portfolio across Australia and now to South Africa as well(Shin Lee, 2015). Processes: Since its important to develop a quality product offering to the customers, the method in which a product undergoes should be of very high standard as customers are paying premium to buy the same(Human Bick, 2016). Quality is a critical attribute of Woolworths product offerings, which has been maintained since the time it set up its business in 1924. Partnership: Through partnership route, a firm gains competitive advantage over its rivals as two brands and their distribution points and strategies merge together, thereby realizing good economies of scale(Rosenbaum-Elliott, Elliott, H., Percy, Pervan, 2015). When strategic partnerships are formed, it delivers a greater impact on the companys intended message in the market through smart packaging of products and good merchandising. Physical evidence: Physical evidence determines the level of satisfaction from the customers point of view. They often judge the quality of a product based on their perceptions of the surrounding infrastructure(Muposhi Dhurup, 2016) Issues faced by Woolworths: Achieving the business strategies, analyzing the influential environment on its profitable ground are the important point that Woolworths need for its understanding (Feigin, 2016). The corporate strategies are not only accomplished but also the business performance of the organization significantly affects on the impact of the external factors of the organization. On analyzing the external environment, the internal aspects will help Woolworths to improve its present strategies and turning the mission into effective actions (Methner, Hamann, Nilsson, The Evolution of a Sustainability Leader, 2015). Woolworths adapted some competitive strategies for competing in retail industry. It identified its position the field of retail marketing. The two levels of external environment can be divided into two major levels that include the environment of the industry that can influence outside the company and the general influential factor, called macro environment of the company. Issues that Woolworths faces currently in Australia that can be listed below: Woolworths, being a large market scale in retail industry; they have very low dependency on the suppliers of the particular items. They must have very low dependency rate in the ground of the supply chain (King Thobela, 2014). The fixed customers of Woolworths bargains tremendously in the store for the discount of any items. They get huge level of discounts in the e-commerce sites almost al the year round. Customers start trusting those online sites more than to step in for the retail market (Cameron, Sayers, Sacks, Thornton, 2015). The discounted items from the sites become cheap in the price range and the quality remains the same. The current and new threat of Woolworths is considered significantly due to several other reasons. Any new organization competing in the particular business needs a huge amount of start-up capital for fixing up the facilities and for operating the business. Woolworths competes with Coles with 23% of the market that is controlled by them. Woolworths is the leader of the Australian market and its position flourishes the power of the company for exploitation of the potentiality of the market by its well-built resources and a proper presence of the company (Feigin, 2016). The Australian government has several restrictions on the movement of Woolworths as it keeps on increasing its prices quiet higher for any of its products specially liquor. The price rise is one of the common business strategies for profit making. The increase in price rise is the major weakness of the company for promoting growth because government restricts that in the upcoming future. Woolworths have several opportunities that is related in the retail industry that focuses with the potentiality of the growth like computerization, advancement of the supply chain and the lifestyle that changes the consumers that facts the abilities of the retailers for growing better opportunities in the market. However, they have adopted several strategies to cope up with the strategies for adopting the multi optional retailing for the changing needs of the consumer. A new technology that is adopted by Woolworths was the subscription of GEMMN(Global Electronic Marketing and Merchandising Network). However, on improving their chain of supply and the system of distribution that includes important impacts on cost saving. They also introduced the facilities for the online shopping, which make them to identify from any other company(Methner, Hamann, Nilsson, The Evolution of a Sustainability Leader: The Development of Strategic and Boundary Spanning Organizational Innovation Capabilities in Woolworths., 2015). Recently, Woolworths have diversified from grocery store to Hotels, Petrol, Liquor general Merchandise and general services. The expansion and the acquisition made Woolworths a largest supermarket chain in Australia with 31% share. The main growth of Woolworths is by the strong commitment towards its employees and the customers. It has benefits for multiple activities with innovation and identified strengths for conducting operations flexibly by the coordination of the activities and the close interrogation by the employees and the customers. Resolving recommendation: The first and foremost challenge for Woolworths has always been the neck-to-neck competition provided by the other Aussie retail giant Coles. The last couple year has brought a number of other competitors in the market as well (Ausfoodnews.com.au., 2017). Along with that, the customer satisfaction level of retail chains took a massive hit as the online sites started emerging with their new discount schemes every day. In order to cope up with the current market schemes and the government restrictions on price hike the retail markets are facing increasing debts. Woolworths is no exception to this scenario, and the financial equilibrium of the company took further hits due to its many acquisition in period of 2008 to 2012 (Santos, M., Svensson, Padin, 2014). The geographical market seclusion also plays a major role in the current instability in the company and the need for global expansion has become prevalent. Dealing with this many challenges needs renovation in strategic and operati onal level; a few recommendations have been listed down below: Cost-Profit Balance: Price strategy is considered as one of the most vital decisive factors of the retail sector. Strategy of cost-leadership sated the major focus of the customers are focused on the cost of a product and how it differs from other retailers. The trick to an excellent cost-management strategy is to reduce the packaging cost to the bare minimum to ensure that the cost-profit balance is maintained. Woolworth should focus on reducing overall cost by cutting down their packaging and wastage expenses to ensure the growth of profit margin (Keith, 2012). Strategic conduct: In order to obtain success in any business the link between core business strategies and different operational applications is mandatory. Strategic collaborations and alliances can be the turning point in the retail marketing of Woolworths. Woolworths already has alliances with Caltex and Visa to provide discount to the customers, which has significantly improved their customer satisfaction levels. Other such collaborations and reward point offers will benefit the company attain long-term customer loyalty. Brand Diversification: New brands and ranges are coming up every day and by the virtue of social media marketing, the consumers are more aware of the new arrivals now more than ever. The company needs to focus on expanding their product range by incorporating new brands in order to broaden their target market. However, all new brands might not be trustworthy and incorporating unreliable phantom brands will only case more harm to the customer royalty. Therefore the company needs to walk a fine line in order to strategically expand their product range while ensuring that the brands they are incorporating would not negatively impact the companys reputation in the long run (Fernie Sparks, 2014). People-focused strategy: Retail markets have been public-focused business from the very beginning. Consumer behavior and preferences have changed in a myriad of ways along the years and the retail markets should take attentive notice of it. The value of feedback is immense in smooth market operations as that makes the customers feel valued by the company. Woolworths should focus in incorporating customer feedback programs, which will increase their customer loyalty significantly. Lastly, Australia is a proud multicultural country and a major setback in the service standards of Woolworth has been the challenges of controlling and managing the people from different cultural background and meeting their expectations (Berning, 2014). The company needs to focus on eliminating the gaps left behind due to cultural differences in both staff and customers. Conclusion: Woolworths started its journey back in 1924 as just a basement outlet and have come a long way since then. In 2012, the company reached the pinnacle of success when it acquired the position of largest supermarket chain in Australia. Woolworths has managed to capture 31% market shares with a customer base of more than 28 million per week. Even after tackling the Australian retail market for almost a century, Woolworth still has challenges ahead to overcome if it wants to uphold its duopoly in the Aussie retail market. The cutthroat market competition and government jurisdictions have placed hurdles after hurdles in its path that has dimmed the market potential for Woolworths in the last couple of year. However, the Woolies have always been a trusted enterprise due to their core competence and unsurpassed quality standards. Hence it can be concluded, that a company as reputed as Woolworths just needs a well-articulated and renovated marketing strategy with current market scenario at the focal point to put the company back in the market with renewed zeal. American Marketing Association Quesrtion: Describe the marketing process according to american marketing association. Answer: According to American Marketing Association, Marketing is the process of planning and executing of the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational goal. Philip Kotler explains marketing as an art and science of choosing target markets and getting, keeping and growing customers through creating, delivering and communicating superior customer value. Marketing is a technique or a tool which acts as a bridge that fills the gap between an organization and its customers. It is through marketing that an organization is able to introduce new products to the customers or revamp some of its existing product line. According to Forbes, companies like Coca Cola, Pepsico, Nestle, Proctor Gamble and Unilever are some of the most effective marketers in the world. The true fact behind Apple Incs legendary Think Different campaigns remarkable success was Steve Jobs, who was consistently involved in marketing and every other activities of the company that helped Apple accomplish one of the greatest turnaround in the history of a business (Forbes.com 2016). Marketing to a large extend help in raising the brand value of an organization and helps in creating product awareness. It is a boon if utilized in most effective way, and can turn out to be a disadvantage if under-utilized. In todays world where there is cut-throat competition in almost every industry, it is very crucial for each and every organization to emphasize on its marketing activities irrespective of their size to gain competitive advantage over its competitors. Many organizations mark their presence through innovative and successful marketing strategies that they implement (West Ford and Ibrahim 2015). The nucleus of each and every business success completely relies on the way they market their products. Marketing is a sum of activities that includes advertising, sales, promotion, and public relations. It is process by which a product or service is presented and promoted to a prospective customers. For an organization to succeed in the marketplace, it is very crucial for them to create awareness for their products or services which can only be possible with proper communication with the customers. A company may be offering excellent products and services in the industry, but without marketing their products and services to their prospective customers, the product may fail and sales may witness a declining trend which would further impact the profitability of the company. Marketing serves as a light that provides a business with a probability of getting noticed by prospective customers. Once a product or service gets in the mind of a customer, it enhances the probability that the cu stomer will buy the product or service, and once the product is bought the customer spreads the news of a new product through word of mouth amongst its friends and family, and once this happens the sales will increase significantly. Without implementing proper marketing strategies, it would not have been possible. The success of an organization largely depends upon its concrete reputation which is attained by delivering quality products or service that exceeds customers expectations (Kotler et al. 2015) Marketing helps in building the reputation and brand name as the organization consistently engages itself into corporate social responsibility, effective internal and external communications. Marketing also promotes healthy competition in the marketplace as it creates awareness among the competitors and new entrants about the products or services that are readily available, and forces them to formulate better and more effective marketing strategy. Amidst such competitive environment, the price and the quality of the product or service tends to improve over time (Eteokleous Leonidou and Katsikeas 2016). Execution of an effective marketing strategy helps an organization to develop products or services which would earn maximum revenue because an effective marketing strategy involves marketplace research which takes into consideration the pivotal factors such as target segment, existing competitors, price of competitors product etc. Such factors help the organization in determining the pricing strategy, product differentiation strategy etc. Effective marketing also helps in establishing an effective distribution system and strong supply chain as market survey furnishes data related to buying habits of the prospective customers, for example; younger generation finds it convenient shopping online whereas older generation prefer in-store shopping, therefore based on the needs of the customer, it has be decided whether the product should be sold online or in-store (Green Whitten and Inman 2012). Marketing also helps in maintaining a smooth flow communication internally and externally. It helps the organization to understand the needs and demands of the customers in a better way through feedbacks and suggestions. It also helps in retaining the existing customers and attracting new customers. Many organizations emphasize on retaining their customers by offering value added services, after sales services, courtesy calls, new product information that would exceed customers expectations and reach customers delight (Zakaria et al 2014).
